
Pakistan’s Universal Service Fund and incumbent fixed line and broadband provider Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) have signed three agreements, according to which PTCL will provide broadband services in uncovered urban regions of southern Punjab and Lower Sindh, as well as bring fibre optic connectivity to all the administrative divisions in southern Balochistan. PTCL will also install around 1,166 km of fibre optic cable in the region along with the setting up of educational broadband centres in 206 high schools, colleges and libraries.
