Over 100,000 5G BTSs deployed in India as of March 5, 2023, says DoT; Maharashtra leads among states

According to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), 102,215 5G base transceiver stations (BTSs) have been deployed in India as of March 5,2023.

Among states, Maharashtra is leading the charts with a total of 15,394 5G BTSs, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat with 10,360 and 8,358 respectively.

The Minister of State for Communications, Devusinh Chauhan informed the parliament about the positioning of around 2,500 5G BTSs every week as of December 2022.
