Oppo has entered into a strategic partnership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) with an aim to standardise fields such as 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data.
Oppo will participate in the work of several IEEE standards committees to contribute to the formulation of international technical standards.
According to Oppo, it plans to summarise and present its technical researches in the fields of AI, communication technology, and hardware technology to IEEE and to the global engineering community.
Further the two parties will also promote academic collaboration in the above-mentioned fields. To this end, it plans to work with IEEE to facilitate the technology conversations through activities such as visits, lectures, and conferences.
