Bharti-backed OneWeb has launched 34 additional satellites from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, bringing its total in-orbit constellation to 322 satellites.
This is almost half of OneWeb’s 648 LEO satellite fleet that will provide high-speed, low-latency satellite broadband worldwide.
This launch follows a recent strategic partnership signed between Hughes and OneWeb earlier this year. Through this partnership, OneWeb seeks to deliver LEO services for government, enterprise, and other customers in India and the US.
In addition to this, OneWeb had recently signed deals with AT&T, Peraton, Northwestel, and BT.
Moreover, OneWeb has raised $2.7 billion since November 2020, with no debt issuance.
