The mobile handset manufacturer, OnePlus is planning to establish a research and development (R&D) unit in India. The Shenzhen-based company has already set up a local team to help optimise the hardware and software requirements, keeping in mind the needs of the Indian consumers.
The plan to launch a R&D facility in the country has come at a time when it plans to launch its smartphone in India. The company launched its only smartphone, the OnePlus One, globally in April 2014 and will commence its sales in India in December 2014. The smartphone hosts a variety of features including the ability of customisation. The company has a unique attribute of using the invite-only sales model for selling its smartphone across the world.
