OnePlus and Reliance Jio have successfully demonstrated 5G network slicing technology at their innovation lab in India. During this demonstration, they connected the core network and chip module on the newly launched OnePlus Nord 4, completing the 5G network slicing tests. This technology allows various applications to access dedicated network slices, enhancing the overall 5G experience.

5G network slicing enables a physical network to be divided into multiple virtual networks, each customised to meet specific requirements. These virtual networks can have distinct characteristics such as speed, bandwidth, security, and reliability tailored to user needs.

The two companies are now focused on finalising details for commercial deployment in the upcoming months. They also plan to continue their collaboration on innovative research and development (R&D) solutions and work with global stakeholders to promote 5G network slicing for businesses, aiming to provide more secure, reliable, and flexible 5G services across India.
