Nxtra by Airtel, the data centre subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, is strengthening its presence in tier 3 and 4 cities with the expansion of its edge data centre infrastructure. The move comes amid rising demand from over-the-top (OTT) platforms and content delivery network (CDN) providers for low-latency and high-performance digital services.

In a recent update, the company stated that it has extended its edge infrastructure to key strategic cities, aimed at improving digital access in underserved regions and bolstering India’s broader digital transformation.

Edge data centres have become critical to enabling seamless content delivery, especially in non-metro areas. Nxtra currently operates over 120 edge facilities across more than 65 cities, in addition to its 14 hyperscale data centres across the country.
