According to a report by the Global Mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), the number of announced 5G devices increased by 1.9 per cent to reach a total of 1,400 devices in May 2022.

As per the report, 1,062 of these devices are commercially available, representing 75.8 per cent of all announced 5G devices. This is an increase of 23.9 per cent in the number of commercial 5G devices since the end of December 2021.

The report highlights the identification of 192 manufacturers with announced available or forthcoming 5G devices, 735 phones, and 214 fixed wireless access customer premises equipment (CPE). It adds that there are 788 announced devices with declared support for standalone 5G in sub-6 GHz bands, of which 599 are commercially available, as of May 2022.

The GSA report notes that the number of commercial devices may approach the 1,200 mark by the end of Q2 2022.
