NTT DoCoMo has registered a 6 per cent increase in profits to Y833 billion in the year ended March 2006, while forecasting a 3 per cent fall in profits to Y810 billion during the year ending March 2007. The prediction for the coming year ?? though higher than the market was expecting ?? highlights the industry’s expectations of a much tougher future environment in the Japanese market.
Unveiling its outlook for 2006-07, the company has acknowledged that operating income would decline partly because of higher investment aimed at strengthening its competitiveness.
