
Tokyo-based NTT Communications is planning to open a new data centre through its subsidiary Netmagic Solutions in Mumbai by the end-2015. The data centre will be established with an investment of $100 million. The centre will be spread across 300,000 square-feet and will be able to host up to 3,000 server racks with 20 MW-28 MW energy capacity.
According to the company, the upcoming data centre will have a carrier-neutral business model and it has already received some anchor booking. NTT Communications is further planning to expand its data centre base to Hyderabad and Pune, in line with the government?s Digital India initiative. Apart from this, the company is also planning to announce its global cloud services in India by end-2015.
Presently, NTT Communications is in the process of acquiring a unified license for national long- distance services (NLD) through the Indian entity NTT Communications India Network Services which, according to company, would be established in May 2015.
