Norwegian telecom operator Telenor is likely to bring down its stake in Malaysia’s DiGi.com to below 50 per cent from the current 61 per cent by the end of 2007. The move is part of an agreement with the Malaysian government, which had earlier asked Telenor to bring down its stake in DiGi.com to 50 per cent. Telenor was supposed to cut its stake in DiGi.com in 2006 but was granted an extension by the Malaysian government until the end of 2007.
