In a statement, Trond Giske, Norwegian Trade and Industry Minister has said that Norway has expressed interest in a full-and-long- term investment in the Indian telecom sector. He added that the Norwegian government has committed itself to providing the best possible services to the country’s fast-growing telecommunications sector.
Also, he said that Norway aims to make its telecom venture in India a big success. This refers to Uninor, a joint venture between Telenor (in which the Norwegian Government holds a 54 per cent equity stake) and India-based Unitech Wireless Limited.
