Constl, a subsidiary of Space World Group, and Nokia have announced a partnership for the pan-India deployment of a state-of-the-art dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical transport network across India.
With this development, Constl’s fibre rollout will provide high-capacity digital service infrastructure to power seamless connectivity, beginning with Mumbai and eventually, expanding across India. As Constl’s technology partner, Nokia is enabling high-capacity metro and data center interconnectivity (DCI), powered by their 1830 photonic service switch (PSS) platforms.
This new optical transport network addresses the exponential growth in bandwidth demand driven by cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI) workloads, and over-the-top (OTT) services – delivering scalable, low-latency connectivity infrastructure required for mission-critical applications.
commenting on the partnership, chairman and founder, Space World Group, said, “By bringing together Constl’s nationwide fibre footprint with Nokia’s advanced photonic technology, we are laying the foundation for the next generation of digital innovation in India. India’s bold digital transformation ambitions demand infrastructure that can scale rapidly without compromising on reliability or performance – exactly what this partnership provides.”
Meanwhile, vice president, optical networks, Asia Pacific, Nokia, said, “Our partnership with Constl marks a significant milestone for India’s digital future. By deploying Nokia’s advanced 1830 PSS optical transport network, we are providing the high-capacity, ultra-reliable foundation needed to power next-generation AI, cloud services, and seamless digital experiences. This collaboration ensures India remains at the forefront of innovation, delivering unparalleled connectivity for its citizens and businesses.”
