Nokia Siemens Networks will begin operations on April 1, 2007. The two companies, which are contributing their respective carrier network businesses and corresponding assets into the new 50:50 joint venture company, have also agreed to increase their respective net asset contributions to the new entity. Now Siemens will contribute 2.4 billion euro while Nokia will contribute 1.7 billion euro. The tie-up, which will have one of the world’s best research and development teams, plans to advance the development of product platforms and services for next-generation fixed and mobile networks.
