
Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has been awarded a contract to build an optical backbone network in Bosnia and Herzegovina by BH Telecom. NSN’s dense wavelength division multiplexing network based on the SURPASS hiT 7300 platform, will provide BH Telecom with a scalable and cost-effective transport backbone, anticipating future transmission volumes from the emerging data traffic. It will also prepare the operator for the transformation to next-generation networks. Deliveries are planned for the second quarter of 2008. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
