Nokia has reportedly secured a three-year 5G RAN contract from Thailand based DTAC to roll out 5G services in the North and North-Eastern regions of the country.
As per the terms of the contract, Nokia will deploy 5G on low-band spectrum (700-900 MHz) and mmWave band (26 GHz), and will also enhance networks on 2300 Mhz, 2100 Mhz, and 1800 Mhz spectrum bands.
Further, Nokia will provide its AirScale Radio Access solutions for 4G and 5G networks and DTAC will also deploy Nokia Software’s NetAct Cloud network management system.
Nokia has also provided solutions from its IP/Optical portfolio to enhance DTAC’s network including a software-defined network (SDN)-ready IP/Optical network.
The deployment is expected to begin soon and is likely to be completed in 2022.
