Nokia has signed a contract with STMicroelectronics and Broadcom under which the two companies will develop 3G phone technologies.

Nokia has signed a contract with STMicroelectronics and N Broadcom under which the two companies will develop 3G phone technologies. STMicroelectronics will design and build 3G chips based on Nokia’s technologies for Nokia customers, thus freeing up Nokia’s own research and development resources for other areas. Broadcom will supply silicon for Nokia’s EDGE network products and will also make EDGE chips for Nokia.
