
Keeping in mind the positive market response to the Asha and Lumia mobile phone series, Nokia expects its revenues to increase from Euro 3.5 billion in the third quarter of 2012 to Euro 3.9 billion in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Globally, Nokia sold about 86.3 million mobile devices during October-December 2012, as compared to 82.9 million units in July-September 2012. It sold about 9.3 million units of its Asha series of devices during in October-December 2012.
The company estimates the net sales of smart devices to be worth Euro 1.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2012. Further, the vendor expects its total smartphone volumes in the reported quarter to increase to 15.9 million units, comprising 9.3 million Asha smartphones, 4.4 million Lumia smartphones and 2.2 million smartphones based on symbian platform. Nokia expects the total net sales in the fourth quarter of 2012 to be about Euro 4 million.
The company will announce its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2012 and full year on January 24, 2013.
