Ericsson and Nokia are continuing production of critical telecom gear at their factories in Pune and Chennai, albeit at lower than usual capacity with approvals from the authorities.

These vendors are continuing to produce spare parts for wireless and wireline networks for supporting their operator partners like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea, in order to ensure smooth operations amid lockdown.

As per Ericsson, it is producing telecom equipment for orders that it has already received from customers for repair and normal production for domestic requirements.

Meanwhile, Huawei and ZTE have claimed they have sufficient inventory of critical spare parts for 6-10 months for supporting demand in India.
