The Finnish handset maker Nokia has scrapped its plan, announced in February, to produce CDMA standard-based phones with Japan’s Sanyo Electric. Nokia views CDMA phone manufacturing as a shrinking market in the longer term. However, it will continue to offer to sell Nokia rebranded CDMA phones produced by manufacturers in North America where the standard is popular.
