Nokia has appointed Tarun Chhabra, head, mobile networks market, India, as the country manager in India, effective April 2024. Chhabra succeeds Sanjay Malik, who has been leading sales for Nokia in India, and will retire from Nokia on 31 March 2024.

Chhabra has three decades of diverse leadership experience in sales, pre-sales, business development and operations in leading companies including Nokia, Siemens, and Motorola, as well as with start-ups. He has managed large customers and relationships in India, Asia Pacific, and Middle east markets.

Chhabra will be taking on a newly defined role for Nokia, one that has been created as part of a new way of working and operational model announced in October 2023. The country managers represent Nokia in their respective countries, building networks and deepening partnerships with key stakeholders including governments, customers, and universities. Country managers take the lead for creating strong ecosystems of innovation and collaboration wherever Nokia operates across the globe.

In addition to assuming India country manager responsibilities, Chhabra will continue in his role of head, mobile networks market, India, in which he reports to Tommi Uitto, president, mobile networks, Nokia.
