Nishtha Kapoor, Regional Director, APAC, Eutelsat OneWeb

As regional director for APAC, Eutelsat OneWeb, Nishtha Kapoor leads market development and strategic partnerships across Africa, the Middle East, India and SAARC, championing satellite-based broadband as a transformative force for underserved communities.

Kapoor’s professional journey began with Uninor, where her role took her deep into the rural heartlands of India. She quickly learned the realities of grassroots execution, building a practical foundation in go-to-market strategies.

She later joined Airtel, where she spent nine years growing across diverse verticals and customer segments in both B2C and B2B domains. As strategy lead for Airtel’s Global Business unit, she prepared herself for more complex and high-impact global roles.

Now at Eutelsat OneWeb, Kapoor is driving multimillion-dollar deals and forging meaningful collaborations with governments, telcos and enterprise partners. Her work is pivotal in bringing low-latency, high-speed low earth orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity to regions where traditional infrastructure falls short. Whether leading high-stakes negotiations, securing regulatory approvals or presenting at international forums, Kapoor remains focused on connecting the unconnected. She also sees immense potential in partnering with the government, defence and private stakeholders to leverage the strength of the Eutelsat OneWeb LEO satellite constellation. Another priority for her is building awareness and understanding of satellite-based connectivity solutions,
showing how they can complement or even outperform traditional networks.

Regarding major sectoral trends, Kapoor opines, “5G and beyond will require dense backhaul networks, and LEO constellations can be a game changer in providing fast, dependable links to remote regions. Additionally, I see an increased focus on sustainability. The growing importance of data analytics, artificial intelligence and cloud services also points to a future where data-driven decisions will streamline and optimise connectivity solutions. Finally, collaboration among telecom operators, satellite service providers and government bodies will be essential for delivering inclusive connectivity and bridging the global digital divide.”

An engineer by training, with an MBA, Kapoor credits her dual education for allowing her to merge technical innovation with business impact.

Off the clock, Kapoor is an explorer at heart. She also finds joy in reading, reflection, and quality time with her family–whose support, she says, grounds and motivates her to keep pushing boundaries.
