
Japan-based SoftBank has appointed Nikesh Arora as the company?s vice-chairman and as chief executive of SoftBank Internet and Media (SIMI), a new US-based power centre of the company.
Arora joins Softbank from Google where he served as the chief business officer. He had joined Google in 2004 and had worked in the capacity of president, international operations; president, global sales operations and business development; and senior vice president before taking up the position of chief business officer in January 2011. Also, till recently, he was member of the board of directors at Bharti Airtel Limited.
