UK-based operator New Call Telecom is in talks to acquire Indian internet service provider Nextra Teleservices. Established in 2012, Nextra Teleservices currently provides broadband services for homes and leased line internet services to enterprises in Delhi and the National Capital Region.

The proposed acquisition is in line with New Call Telecom?s strategy to target the growing demand for broadband in homes as well as the small and medium-sized enterprises. As per the industry reports, Nextra Teleservices could be valued between Rs 250 million and Rs 300 million. The company reported revenues of Rs 55 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2014. Nextra Teleservices has been trying to secure funds to expand its operations across the country.

Earlier in August 2014, New Call Telecom announced its plans to invest $100 million in India initially towards strategic acquisitions of four mid-level telecom companies to enter fixed line connectivity, Wi-Fi and messaging markets. The company is eyeing strong inorganic growth and a pan-India presence through acquisitions in the fast-growing Indian telecom market. In October 2014, New Call Telecom had bought a 70 per cent stake in Indian mobile messaging service provider, Nimbuzz for $175 million. Ozone is going to be the second acquisition for the company which is currently seeking Foreign Investment Promotion Board?s approval for the deal.
