Netgear has launched the Nighthawk X4S Wall-Plug AC2200 Tri-band Wi-Fi Range Extender, a new category of mesh Wi-Fi range extenders with FastLane3 and Smart Roaming. The device allows enhanced Wi-Fi coverage and increased speeds for connected mobile devices even at the farthest corners of a property, without needing to replace the existing Wi-Fi router or internet service provider’s modem router. The Nighthawk extends Wi-Fi coverage up to an additional 1,500 square feet and can be set up at the push of a button.
Netgear’s patented FastLane3 technology enables the Nighthawk to provide mesh capabilities such as retaining the same Wi-Fi network name and password for the entire home without any reduction in Wi-Fi speed rating, as in traditional Wi-Fi extenders. The Nighthawk X4S leverages FastLane3 technology, transforming any existing Wi-Fi network into an expanded Wi-Fi system to eliminate dead zones and boost performance. This technology enables tri-band Wi-Fi to create a dedicated wireless link from the extender to the router, thereby removing bottlenecks. It provides up to 100 per cent faster Wi-Fi speeds as compared to traditional dual-band Wi-Fi extenders.
According to the company, the Nighthawk X4S eliminates the need to switch between Wi-Fi networks from the router to the extender while preserving Wi-Fi performance and maintaining seamless network coverage at the same time. Every device is assigned the best optimised Wi-Fi connection available due to MU-MIMO and Smart Connect Intelligence. The compact wall-plug design of the Nighthawk X4S makes it easy to install. The smart light-emitting diode indicator lights on the front indicate the ideal location to place the range extender in order to enjoy the best Wi-Fi coverage.
