Nepal Telecom (NT) has signed a $54.5 million network expansioncontract with ZTE Corporation. Under the contract, ZTE will install 3.5 million GSM lines for NT, which presently has a network of 1.5 million GSM lines. Of the 3.5 million lines, 1 million will be installed in the Kathmandu Valley, while the rest will be distributed in other parts of the country. The project, which is expected to begin within the next three to four months, is expected to be completed in three years.
