
Nepal-based fixed line and mobile service provider Nepal Telecom (NT) is planning to invest $587 million for expanding its national network during the current fiscal year. The company intends to add 50,000 fixed lines, 2.2 million cellular lines and 0.4 million CDMA-based fixed wireless lines in order to add 7 million users. NT currently has 3 million GSM cellular subscribers, 0.72 million CDMA phone users and 0.56 million fixed telephony customers. The company also intends to introduce ADSL-based internet services in 40 major cities besides Kathmandu within the next six months.
