Neeraj Mittal assumes charge as DoT secretary

Neeraj Mittal has assumed charge as the new secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

According to Mittal, the DoT seeks to fully accomplish the targets set by the government to connect the unconnected across the length and breadth of the country and achieve technological dominance through indigenous efforts in telecom.

Mittal was serving as the principal secretary of the Information Technology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. Previously, he worked as the managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of Guidance Tamil Nadu. Prior to that, he served as a senior advisor at the World Bank Group and joint secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natual Gas. Mittal is a Tamil Nadu cadre 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.
