As per the latest data released by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), nearly 400,000 5G base transceiver stations (BTSs) have been installed in India as of November 30, 2023. The data shows that number of 5G BTSs deployed in the country has increased from 385,572 at the end of October 2023 to 397,923 at the end of November 2023, a month-on-month addition of 12, 351 units.
Among states, Uttar Pradesh led the charts with a total of 43,388 5G BTSs, followed by Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu with 42,000 and 30,810 5G BTSs, respectively.
