The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has asked the parties in the case involving the Department of Telecommunications, Aircel and its Committee of Creditors to jointly seek an extension of three months to conclude hearings from the Supreme Court.

NCLAT needs these three months to decide if the right of use of spectrum allotted to bankrupt telcos can be sold. The SC mandated three-month deadline to decide on the matter ends on December 13, 2020.

Earlier in an order dated September 25, 2020, the SC had directed NCLAT to hear the matter expeditiously.
