According to the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the adoption of the Green Open Energy Access Rules has started to rise in several states of the country, with continued support from DoT, TRAI and the Ministry of Power (MoP). The COAI has cited five states, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand, which have adopted the amendment to the Green Open Energy Access Rules issued by the MoP in May 2023.

The Dgital Infrastructure Providers Association (DIPA) has raised concerns over critical issues faced by telecom infrastructure players in securing permissions for deploying infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Noida and Ghaziabad. According to DIPA, close to 1,000 applications are pending, where the members have already paid Rs 1,000 per application fee amounting to Rs 100,000, which is non-refundable. DIPA has urged the Uttar Pradesh government to clear all the pending applications at the earliest for a faster roll-out of 5G services in the state.
