Nasscom has appointed Sindhu Gangadharan, managing director of SAP Labs India, as its chairperson. Gangadharan, who previously served as the vice chairperson of the IT industry organisation, will take over from Rajesh Nambiar. Nambiar has been appointed as the president-designate.

Further, key responsibilities for Gangadharan and Nambiar will include intensifying the emphasis on disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), establishing India as a global centre for digital talent, fostering innovation, creating a supportive policy environment, and enhancing engineering research and development capabilities.

Additionally, Sindhu Gangadharan is the first woman to lead SAP Labs India and currently the head of customer innovation services at SAP. She was also appointed chair of the Nasscom GCC Council in 2023, and serves on the boards of Siemens India and Titan Company Limited. She is also a member of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce’s steering committee.
