
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has posted its results for the quarter ended June 2013. The operator?s standalone net losses have increased to Rs 12.56 billion for the period under consideration, on account of higher expenses and finance costs. In comparison, it had reported a net loss of Rs 10.59 in the corresponding period in 2012.
MTNL?s total income from operations increased marginally from Rs 8.33 billion in the second quarter of June 2012 to Rs 8.83 billion in the corresponding period in 2013. The company?s total expenses increased from Rs 17.07 billion in the second quarter of 2012 to Rs 18.70 in the second quarter of 2013. For the period under review, MTNL?s employees cost stood at Rs 11.56 billion against Rs 9.71 billion.
For the quarter ended June 2013, the operator paid Rs 0.65 billion as licence fee and spectrum charges. The operators? finance costs increased from 2.72 billion in the second quarter of 2012 to Rs 3.20 billion for the corresponding quarter in 2013.
