Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) plans to float a nearly Rs 2 billion tender for expanding its 2G and 3G network, say news reports.

The company reportedly plans to offer 2G, 3G and broadband services at affordable price to remain competitive in the market.

Prior to this, MTNL had extended the date for submission of bids to roll out wireless broadband service by a third party in Delhi and Mumbai.

In the latest expression of interest (EoI) document, the company had revised the date of submitting bids to January 23, from January 4 earlier.
