Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited’s (MTNL) consolidated loss has widened to Rs 6.23 billion during the quarter ended (QE) March 2020. The company had posted a net loss of Rs 7.59 billion in the same period a year ago.

The total revenue of MTNL declined by 26.77per cent to Rs 5.18 billion during the period, compared to Rs 7.08 billion in the corresponding quarter in 2019.

During the quarter, 14,387 MTNL employees opted for voluntary retirement scheme (VRS).
