MTNL launched 3G services in the Delhi circle on December 11, 2008, becoming the first operator in the country to do so.
Initially, the service is being provided free to MTNL’s existing customers in the circle. The suite of 3G services initially being offered by MTNL includes high speed internet and audio and video streaming, besides live TV channels on mobile phones.
MTNL has teamed up with various content providers, and is in discussions with several others for a variety of other services. It plans to launch the service in Mumbai in March 2009.
