MTNL has launched internet telephony services in India. The tariffs are likely to be Re 0.10 per minute for a PC-to-PC call.
Calls made from a PC to a landline or a mobile phone overseas will cost a little over Re 1 per minute on account of termination charges. The facility will be available to subscribers who have access to MTNL’s broadband connection, which has a minimum monthly rental of Rs 199. Subscribers will have to buy an analog telephone adaptor for Rs 1,500.
