Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has extended the date for the submission of bids to roll out wireless broadband services by third party companies in Delhi and Mumbai.
As per the Expression of Interest (EoI) document, the company has revised the date of submitting bids to January 23, 2012 from January 4, 2012 earlier.
Both technical and commercial bids for the EoI will be opened the next day. MTNL has one slot of 20 MHz broadband wireless access (BWA) spectrum each in Delhi and Mumbai.
The company has been looking to outsource the rollout of its BWA services to a third party which will be responsible for end to end services as well as regulatory requirements.
The contract between the selected agency and MTNL will be renewed after 10 years from the date of contract.
