Lenovo-owned Motorola is reportedly planning to double exports from India starting 2024. This will be achieved by ramping up Indian shipments to North America, a market that is being served mainly from China.

According to market trackers, Motorola has exported more than 1 million smartphones from India in 2022, manufactured by local electronics contract manufacturer Dixon Technologies. As of October 2023, it has already exported 800,000 units.

Meanwhile, as per the market trackers, Apple and Samsung dominate India’s smartphone exports with a 90 per cent share. However, Motorola has already achieved a domestic value addition of 50-60 per cent, excluding semiconductor parts, higher than rivals such as Samsung and Apple.
