As part of a global restructuring exercise, Motorola Mobility is planning to streamline its business and support systems.
As part of the exercise, the company has decided to do away with the dedicated website for India. However, the company has decided to keep its ?local support site? functional as it will continue to provide consumers support for its existing products.
Earlier in May 2012, Google bought Motorola Mobility?s handset division for $12.5 billion. At that time Motorola Mobility had announced its plans to lay off 20 per cent of its workforce and close one-third of its 94 offices worldwide.
The company has been struggling to keep pace with an intensely competitive market dominated by Samsung and Apple.
