Motorola Mobility is undertaking discussions on reviving its manufacturing facility in Chennai. The company is yet to take a decision on whether it will manufacture phones in India. According to the company, the decision will be taken based on whether it is cheaper to undertake local manufacturing, thereby benefiting the customers in the country.
The company has also stated that the distribution of phones through Flipkart has been a good model as it helps in offering phones at a lower price. The company is also in the process of starting the service-at-your-doorstep facility in 10 more cities in the next few months. It had launched the facility in Delhi and has received positive feedbacks on the same.
