Motorola Inc. has regained its number two position behind Nokia in the global market for mobile phones. According to the Gartner Group, at the end of the third quarter of 2004, Korea’s Samsung Electronics was marginally ahead of Motorola. In the fourth quarter, Motorola made almost 10 million more handset sales than Samsung.
