According to India Cellular & Electronics Association (ICEA), mobile phone manufacturers can expect to see an impact on the production value to the tune of Rs 60 billion during the months of March and April. This is because of the disruption caused by the Covid-19 epidemic in the supply chain of mobile phone manufacturing.

The impact is expected to be more on the Indian brands and second-tier sub-assembly component manufacturers.

As per ICEA, except for Hubei and Wenzhou (Chongqing Province), all regions and zones have now been downgraded to low-risk. Further, though almost all factories have reopened, they are reporting labour availability of between 15 per cent and 50 per cent.
