Mobile phone exports from India have almost doubled to $5.5 billion till August 2023, according to the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association ICEA’s estimates. Mobile phone exports from India between April-August 2023 amounted to $3 billion.
Meanwhile, according to an ICEA spokesperson, the mobile exports from India continue to buck the overall trend of muted global trade by registering a growth of more than 80 per cent. According to their estimates, the mobile phone exports from India have doubled to surpass over Rs 900 billion in the financial year (FY) 2022-23, from Rs 450 billion in FY22.
Mobile phones are expected to contribute for over $50 billion of the exports by 2025-26.
