The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), along with mobile advertising network company Vserv.mobi has released the results of a study that was aimed at analysing current status, key growth drivers and future of the mobile advertising market in India.

According to MMA and Vserv.mobi, the mobile advertising industry is expected to grow from Rs 3 billion in 2013 to Rs 4.3 billion in 2014. The market is being driven by the increasing adoption of smartphones and tablets amongst users. In addition, increasing adoption of mobility services by small and medium enterprises is also contributing to the growth of mobile advertising industry. Survey results show that nine out of ten mobile internet users in India are men and 60 per cent of the total users are under 24 years of age. Further, 70 per cent of the mobile internet users in the country belong to the well-off section of the society. Also, out of the total mobile internet users, 29 per cent of them are students.

As per the survey results, a large number of marketers are now making significant investments in mobile advertising to reach out to the users. The survey results were based on the data collected from more than 2,000 mobile internet users.
