Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region met with space communications majors (including Eutelsat Oneweb, Jio-SES, Hughes Communications) to suggest ideas about what needs to be done to develop the local space sector. The government plans to develop a self-sufficient space communications sector, including opportunities to manufacture satellites and launch services.
In addition, apart from the satellite communications meeting, Scindia also met players from the internet service providers (ISPs) and infrastructure providers (IPs).
