Millicom International Cellular SA (MICC) may sell or close its Pakistani wireless arm, Paktel Limited, in which it owns 89.9 per cent stake. This is because the company doubts Paktel’s ability to generate adequate returns on MICC’s investment.
According to MICC, Paktel had requested a deferral of the latest installment of its licence fee of $29.1 million, which the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority had not granted.
