Hemant Sachdev, managing director for consumer and online business at Microsoft India, has put in his papers.
This is the third major upheaval at the software giant?s India operations. In the past one year, the company has appointed a new chairman and a managing director for its India operations. Earlier this year, Oracle India?s former managing director Bhaskar Pramanik took over from Ravi Venkatesan as the new chairman of Microsoft India. Neville Taraporewalla, who reported to Sachdev, has been appointed head of the online and advertising business, and will report directly to Pramanik.
Sachdev has 22 years of industry experience, which includes working with Telecom major Bharti airtel, where he oversaw the chairman?s apex team and directed the corporate communication, thereby helping to build the airtel brand.
