Microsoft has appointed Satya Nadella as the chief executive officer of the company. He will also be a part of the organisation?s board of directors.

Prior to his new role, Nadella served as executive vice-president of Microsoft?s cloud and enterprise group. He joined Microsoft in 1992 and since then spearheaded major strategy and technical shifts across the company?s portfolio of products and services.

Nadella has played a key role in Microsoft?s move to the cloud platform and the development of one of the largest cloud infrastructures globally supporting Bing, Xbox, Office and other services. Further, under his leadership, Microsoft?s server and tools business witnessed significant growth.
