
Micromax has introduced the Canvas Tab P690 in the Indian market priced at Rs 8,999.
The tablet features an 8-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of (1280×800) pixels and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor. The Canvas Tab P690 runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and offers 1 GB RAM, 8 GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 32 GB through a microSD card.
The tablet sports dual cameras – a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery and supports connectivity technologies such as 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.
The Canvas Tab P690 comes preloaded with applications such as Hello TV, Saavn, Kindle, Saavn, NewsHunt, SwiftKey, WPS Office, and various games. In addition, buyers will get six free ebooks from Kindle, three months premium subscription to Saavn music services, six months premium subscription to Truecaller along with a host of other gaming offers.
Commenting on the launch of the tablet, Vineet Taneja, chief executive officer, Micromax Informatics, said, ?Since January, we?ve been registering strong growth of 30 per cent month-on-month with our new Canvas Tab portfolio. We are moving towards market leadership in the key tablet segment in the price range of Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000 that we operate in.
